Silent Auction: The Morro Bay Youth Sailing Foundation was founded in 2011 to support access to sailing for all youth in San Luis Obispo County by MBYC members Dana McClish, Mary Monroe, Todd Hansen, Gwenn Krossa, and Kent Butler. Donations go toward sailing equipment and instruction for local youth sailing groups which are currently the Morro Bay Junior Yacht Club and Cal Poly Sailing.

Hiring certified sailing coaches for every Junior meeting has been a long-time goal and this was first achieved in September 2022. To ensure that three coaches are on hand for each session of 2023, the MBYSF set the goal to raise $12,000, of which 60% has been raised. Be a part of this historical milestone and help support the Juniors of today at the Silent Auction or donate directly here. Thank you!

Juniors of Yesterday!

The Morro Bay Yacht Club was formed in 1956. The children of yacht club members grew up sailing and enjoyed club activities. The Morro Bay Junior Yacht Club was formed and kids from outside the MBYC found it and joined the fun. Many of their parents would go on to be members of the MBYC as a result. The Junior program has been a pipeline to an active and robust yacht club, and has helped lead hundreds of kids toward the love of sailing. Send us your pictures at
